AND WEB-BASED PROJECTS

Castlight Launches Commercial Division and Assembles New Creative Team To Focus On Providing High Quality, Affordable 30-second Advertising Spots

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., March 2, 2009 – The high-quality 30-second commercial will now become a lot more affordable thanks to Castlight Pictures.

The Hollywood-based film and television production company has announced its move into commercial production, including new media and Web-based projects.

Castlight Pictures has launched a new commercial division and assembled an experienced creative team to focus on producing high-quality 30-second advertising spots at a fraction of the cost of most major commercial production houses.

Chris Ceccarelli joins the company as vice president of the new commercial division and will also head Castlight’s television and new media development efforts. Ceccarelli has an extensive background in television, including experience as an agent at Broder, Webb, Chervin, Silbermann, and he has held positions in the television and programming departments at TLC, Fox and Dreamworks SKG. Additionally, his role as director of programming and development at Madison Road Entertainment included his working closely with the ad sales team to foster and communicate effective in-show brand integrations.

Castlight Pictures has also hired Brett Lyons to serve as a consultant to its commercial division. Lyons has more than 20 years experience working directly with national advertisers to create and deliver branded content opportunities.

Castlight’s expansion comes at a time when many companies are pulling back resources and postponing new ventures.

“Due to the economic climate, the media business is changing,” said David Robinson, president and CEO of Castlight Pictures. “We feel there is a real need to help companies right now that are pulling back advertising dollars. Our goal is put the same high-quality work into our 30-second commercial projects as we have displayed in our feature films, but for a lot less cost.”

David founded Castlight Pictures with writer and director Mark Edwin Robinson in 2001. In addition to directing and writing feature films, Mark also works as a commercial director and has directed commercials for national and regional brands, including an internal commercial for Paramount Pictures as a presentation to Viacom.

The team’s recent independent film “Breaking Dawn,” written and directed by Mark with David as executive producer, was showcased in the Cannes Film Festival’s Marche Du Film and the Hollywood Film Festival. The film was distributed globally by Curb Entertainment and domestically by Lionsgate Films.

Mark recently wrote the script for the feature film “Abigail’s Giant,” an American/Latino crossover thriller. The story centers on a young American girl in Mexico who is tormented by an infamous Mexican legend of a child-stealing witch that begins to come to life around her. Castlight is set to go into production on the feature later this year with Mark as director and David as executive producer. Castlight Pictures is represented by Shelley H.
